Supported by the Western Australia State Government, through Tourism WA, a new campaign for the state – Wander out Yonder – was launched yesterday, on WA Day.
“The State Government is focused on reinvigorating and supporting WA’s tourism industry, which significantly contributes to the State’s economy,” said WA Premier, Mark McGowan.
The print, digital and radio campaign urges West Aussies to explore the state far and wide, now that regional travel restrictions has been lifted, and the State Government has also written to the Federal Government to have travel permitted again into the Kimberley region from Friday, 5 June 2020.
The campaign’s focus is to encourage Western Australians to take a different kind of holiday, enjoy a staycation in Perth or travel to new places, and seek out new experiences across the State.
Since COVID-19 hit, the McGowan Government has introduced a new $14.4 million Tourism Recovery Program on top of the $1.8 billion stimulus and relief package invested so far in response to the pandemic.
Western Australians are encouraged to support the campaign by using the hashtag #wanderoutyonder when visiting their favourite destinations around the State.
