As tour operators and cruise companies update their cancellation policies in light of current coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, Viking has also followed suit, announcing a temporary exception to its cancellation policy to give guests and travel agents “unprecedented peace of mind when planning their travel”.
Guests who are booked to travel on any upcoming 2020, 2021 or 2022 Viking cruise; whether river, ocean or expedition; are free to postpone their cruise at any time up until 24 hours before it departs, without incurring any cancellation fees. They will receive a Future Cruise Voucher for the full value of the amount paid which can be used toward any future river, ocean or expedition cruise with Viking and will be valid for 24 months from the date of issuance.
In addition, any guest who books a new river, ocean or expedition cruise between now and 30 April 2020 will also be free to postpone their cruise up to 24 hours before departure, without incurring cancellation fees. They too will receive a Future Cruise Voucher valid for 24 months.
Michelle Black, Viking’s Managing Director ANZ, said: “Viking guests are experienced travellers. We know that for your clients, travel is a way of life. Our new policy is designed to give your clients peace of mind and the certainty to continue planning their travels. Right now, there are incredible offers across a huge selection of our cruises, and we hope this temporary exception to our cancellation policy will put their mind at ease so they can book with confidence.”
