Queensland has opened its borders to interstate ‘hotspots’ from 1:00am AEST/2:00am AEDT today, which means non-residents from NSW and Victoria are finally able to enter the Sunshine State, with some conditions.
While mandatory quarantine is not required for fully vaccinated visitors, unvaccinated visitors must only arrive by air and must complete 14 days’ quarantine.
All visitors, including those who are fully vaccinated, are required to have a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to arriving in Queensland, and have an additional PCR test on day 5 after their arrival.
From Wednesday 15 December 2021, Tasmania’s borders will open to all fully vaccinated travellers, and all arrivals including returning residents must have a negative PCR test result in the 72 hours prior to arrival in the state.
Until Wednesday 15 December 2021, fully vaccinated visitors must still register with Tasmania’s e-Travel system and show evidence of their vaccination certificate.
Fully vaccinated travellers may enter South Australia, however, there are additional conditions for travellers coming from the ACT, NSW and VIC.
Those travellers must produce a negative PCR test received within 72 hours prior to arrival in the state and take a test on arrival, quarantining until the test is taken. They must again test on day 6 after arrival and check for symptoms for 14 days after arrival.
