You may have noticed a few changes here at Travel Monitor. A change is as good as a holiday, right? And we are all in the business of holidays.
Travel Monitor recently came under new ownership, and with that came an opportunity to take the publication to the next level. Owner Kate Webster has been in the travel industry for over 20 years. She has worked in roles including retail consulting, corporate travel, wholesaler reservations, airline reservations, and travel journalism for the past 12 years.
With that background experience, Kate has infinite knowledge of the industry and knows what Travel Monitor’s readers need to know as she has sat in the seat of various travel roles. This has influenced the changes to make Travel Monitor not only the ‘First News of the Day’ for the readers but also a publication that delivers consistent, intellectual editorial and informative yet entertaining news.
What’s new
Travel Monitor has been delivering the First News of the Day to the travel industry since 2009 and continues the tradition of only engaging experienced writers, editors and other professionals to source and create Travel Monitor content. The Travel Monitor website has had a complete makeover, now offering a clean and seamless website that is easy to navigate.
We have introduced the Agent Zone, where you can find news dedicated to travel agents, appointments in the industry, a jobs board, information about famils and training, as well as some helpful features like fighting fit and money matters. This Agent Zone is designed to be the go to for travel agents to stay up to date and informed.
The regular and well-loved features Talking Travel and How to Sell will be complemented by the newly introduced Product of the Month feature, all designed to better inform the industry of the latest offerings and help to better sell travel destinations and products.
The weekly e-newsletter also got a slight touch-up, now making it easier to read the news and features that are relevant to you.
The team has also grown, with Sarah Clements joining as the Marketing and Campaign Manager and Eamonn Merrifield as a travel writer, delivering the latest news, features, and reviews.
As we move into this new era of Travel Monitor, we invite you, our readers, to let us know what you think and if there is anything in particular you want to read. We encourage any feedback.
Travel Monitor thanks the industry for their support since the publication began in 2009 and looks forward to working with you in the future.
