Created by Tiny Away, five tiny houses will be part of a tiny house ‘village’ – Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island – offering the first ever overnight accommodation on Lazarus Island, Singapore’s hidden-gem island destination.
The sustainably-built tiny houses allow guests to rest and enjoy comfortable accommodation with all the modern musts including split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and a bathroom, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
Solar energy is the main source of power, supported by the grid for contingency. High-tech food waste recycling systems in partnership with Singapore startup, Westcom Solutions, will reduce and recycle food waste from guests. The entire tiny home experience on Lazarus Island has been carefully designed to ensure visitors enjoy their stay while respecting the environment and leaving the island unscathed.
Located a short 15-minute boat ride from the neighbouring island of Sentosa, the Southern Islands of Singapore which also include Seringat, St John’s, and Kias, are spread across 128 hectares. With some of them still unknown to many locals, let alone international visitors, the islands offer an idyllic paradise escape.
Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) partnered with Tiny Away to secure and develop the project on the island. A multi-purpose space dubbed ‘The Glasshouse’ will also offer guest amenities, cooking facilities, and the chance for guests to get outdoors and mingle with other island-goers. Bicycle rentals and other non-motorised water activities will also be launched in phases by June.

“We know Australians love travelling to Singapore, and this tiny house experience will present travellers with the opportunity to get out of the city and see some of Singapore’s gorgeous surrounding islands and natural habitats.”
Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island is expected to be available for bookings from May 2023.
