From midnight AEST tonight (Wednesday 23 September 2020), NSW residents will once again be able to cross the borders into South Australia without having to self isolate or quarantine.
South Australia’s Chief Public Health Officer, Nicola Spurrier, said the decision to re-open her state’s borders to NSW residents was made because NSW had not recorded any COVID-19 cases of community transmission in the past 14 days.
South Australian Premier, Steven Marshall, made the announcement yesterday.
“Subject to no community transmission occurring in NSW between now and midnight tonight we will open the border from midnight tomorrow,” Premier Marshall said.
“So that means people from NSW wanting to come into South Australia from Thursday onwards will be able to do that without doing the 14 days of self-isolation.
“This will be a massive, massive relief to people who have been isolated from friends, from family, from business opportunities.”
