Travel agents in Sydney and Melbourne got a taste of what is on offer in Rwanda at the recent Visit Rwanda Roadshow held last week in Australia, with two lucky agents winning a spot on the 2023 Kwita Izina Rwanda Famil in September this year.
Speaking at the events in Sydney and Melbourne was several members of the Rwandan delegation, including Clare Akamanzi – Chief Executive Officer and Cabinet Member, Rwanda, Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Head of Tourism and Conservation Department RDB, Ariella Kageruka, Rwandair represented by Arnaud Michelin, Africa Unique Safaris & Tours represented by Michael Savage and Amahoro Tours & Red Rocks Rwanda represented by Kate Webster.
The agents and wholesalers engaged in B2B sessions where they learnt about the tourism offerings in Rwanda before mingling for a networking session with drinks and canapes.
Clare Akamanzi said she was delighted to visit Australia and showcase not only the tourism products on offer but the conservation work that is vital in protecting the rare mountain gorillas, with gorilla trekking a highlight of any visit to Rwanda.
“We have the three S’s – Safety, Sustainability and Scenery, and we welcome Australians to come and experience beautiful Rwanda,” Clare Akamanzi added.
The lucky winners of a place on the 2023 Kwita Izina Baby Gorilla Naming Ceremony Rwanda famil was Jacqueline Bourke (Flight Centre) in Melbourne and Conrad Machado (Flight Centre) in Sydney.
