Qantas has launched nonstop flights from Brisbane to Manila, strengthening its presence in the Philippine market with four weekly Airbus A330 services and adding over 100,000 seats annually.
This new route meets growing demand, providing a seamless option for Australians while enhancing connections for New Zealand passengers via Brisbane.
“This new direct flight will make it easier and faster for Queenslanders to get to the Philippines in a single hop,” said Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace.
“The Philippines is a fantastic destination with a fascinating history and culture, and we’re thrilled to make it even more accessible to our customers.”
The service complements Qantas’ daily Sydney-Manila flights and aligns with Brisbane’s expanding international network, which recently added new flights to Palau and extra flights to Los Angeles, Auckland, Singapore, and Port Vila. The A330 aircraft offer 27 business class suites with lie-flat beds and 269 economy seats for the 7-hour, 45-minute journey.
Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff praised the new service, saying, “The Philippines is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and a key trading partner for Queensland. With our state home to a vibrant Filipino community, the business and tourism opportunities generated by this expanded connectivity will no doubt be a success.”
This new Brisbane-Manila service builds on Qantas’ long-standing commitment to the Philippines, where the airline will celebrate 75 years of service in 2025.
