Nominations for the 2022 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) open today in a modified format to allow for video as well as written submissions. To accommodate the widespread desire to celebrate being face to face at the event, the number of awards has also been reduced by a third.
The highly anticipated return of NTIA will be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on 15th October with Singapore Airlines as the major sponsor.
Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) CEO Dean Long said “NTIA 2022 is going to be a little different from our traditional NTIA celebrations in recognition of the very different circumstances we are all in. It’s our time to get together in the same room and celebrate the fact that we are still standing and we are more determined than ever to elevate the role of Travel Professionals and those who support us.”
“In a sure sign that life is returning to normal, the calls to the AFTA office about when nominations will open have been off the chart so we are thrilled to finally release the details.”
“AFTA is delighted to be welcoming Singapore Airlines as our major sponsor. Singapore Airlines General Manager Agency Sales Greg McJarrow and his team have embraced the opportunity to stand with Australia’s Travel sector as we move forward through recovery after the multiple challenges of COVID.”
Nominations for the Most Outstanding (judged) categories can be via a video or a written submission with an Independent Reviewer shortlisting the finalists. The Most Popular Categories will see a list of suppliers collated following nominations which the industry then votes on. The top 5 in each category will proceed as Finalists.
