Marriott International wage increase
Marriott International has brought forward the Fair Work Commission’s mandated 4.6 per cent wage increase for workers on award wages and will apply the increase from 1 July, instead of delaying the increase until the 1 October date that has been set for the hospitality industry. Marriott International employs 3,300 associates across Australia and will apply the 4.6% increase to 2,500 associates from 1 July.
Bawah Reserve reopens in September
Remote eco-resort, Bawah Reserve will reopen on 1 September 2022, welcoming guests back to the Anambas Islands, Indonesia for the first time in over two years. Bawah Reserve offers the ultimate secluded island adventure, opening up this lesser-known part of the world for the discerning traveller. Travelex creates 1,200 new international jobs
Foreign exchange brand Travelex has announces the creation of more than 1,200 new international jobs, following a series of major new contract wins across the APAC, Europe, MET and UK regions as both the international travel and FX markets continue to strongly recover post-pandemic. Across the ANZ region, Travelex is creating more than 100 retail and head office jobs. These include positions at Travelex’s new airport stores in Adelaide, Brisbane and Cairns. In addition, Travelex has recently launched new ATMs at Darwin International Airport, and will be launching more than ten new stores in Australia and New Zealand at high profile shopping centres and in key cities.
