MEETINGS 2023 heads to Wellington, Tākina
Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) will stage MEETINGS in Wellington for the first time at the capital city’s new-generation venue, Tākina Wellington Conference and Exhibition Centre. BEIA Chief Executive Lisa Hopkins says Tākina’s opening in June 2023 is perfect timing for another spectacular New Zealand business events showcase in a new destination. MEETINGS 2022 in Christchurch last month set a record with over 210 stands and 400 buyers, including 110 from Australia.
“Following a hugely successful MEETINGS 2022, held at Te Pae Christchurch, our attention is now focused on debuting the second of New Zealand’s brand new convention centres, Tākina,” Lisa Hopkins said.
With stunning design and set in Wellington CBD’s cultural precinct, Tākina is within easy walking distance of key transport links, entertainment and recreation options, and thousands of accommodation options. For more visit https://www.takina.co.nz/visit/
BEIA releases 30th Aotearoa New Zealand Event Planners’ Guide
The 30th edition of Business Events Industry Aotearoa’s (BEIA) comprehensive guide to New Zealand for event planners is now available online and in print. Launched to hosted buyers at MEETINGS 2022 in Christchurch last month, the anniversary guide has been distributed to over 3,000 clients in New Zealand and Australia. BEIA Chief Executive, Lisa Hopkins says after 30 years, the guide is still considered the ‘industry bible’ for event planners. Featuring all 22 regions of Aotearoa with detailed information and stunning images, the guide makes it easy for event organisers to plan events across a diverse range of regions. The 180-page guide features a four-page section for every region, as well as key event planning resources and tools for event organisers including contacts for the regional convention bureaux throughout the country, maps, and a supplier index sorted by types of support services.
