Marriott International has signed an agreement with One Bangkok Co., Ltd., a joint venture between TCC Assets and Frasers Property, to deliver its first Ritz-Carlton hotel in Bangkok in 2023. The 259-room hotel is expected to occupy a planned 50-storey tower in the One Bangkok lifestyle development.
“We are thrilled to announce plans for our first Ritz-Carlton hotel in the dynamic capital of Thailand, a country where we currently operate two Ritz-Carlton resorts,” said Craig Smith, President and Managing Director of Asia-Pacific, Marriott International, Inc.
“Having a Ritz-Carlton in Bangkok – especially in the exciting One Bangkok district – will be an extraordinary addition to our luxury portfolio for our Marriott Bonvoy loyalty members, tourists, business travellers and local residents who seek the brand’s luxury accommodations, world-class service and culinary expertise.”
The hotel is slated to rise on the prestigious Wireless Road, within One Bangkok, the global landmark destination in the city’s Central Business District expected to open in 2022 with a lively combination of commercial offices, lodging, residences, retail, year-round art and cultural events. Taking up the first 25 floors of the building, the hotel’s guest rooms will feature panoramic views of adjacent Lumphini Park. The fully-integrated One Bangkok district will also feature lushly landscaped green and open spaces, which would make The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok a unique oasis in the middle of the city’s bustle.
Plans for The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok feature 259 elegantly appointed guestrooms, including 32 suites and one exceptional Ritz-Carlton Suite, on 25 levels of the tower. The hotel is being designed as an urban resort, with contemporary style and locally influenced design, four distinct restaurants and bars, and fitness facilities. Plans also include a signature Ritz-Carlton Spa that would feature six treatment rooms, wet lounges, whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms for both guests and locals, alike. The hotel is also slated to include function facilities, as well as a ballroom that would be the largest of its kind in Thailand.
