Lizard Island, on the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland, has announced it will reopen for guests on 14 December 2020, following a nine-month closure due to COVID-19 border closures.
With just 40 beach-house style suites catering to a small number of guests, and more than 20 private beaches Lizard Island is also offering an even more privately tailored stay at the resort and experience of the Great Barrier Reef.
A newly appointed Guest Services Manager will offer a personalised pre-arrival check-in at Cairns and help finalise guests’ itineraries to make the most of their time on the island. A raft of private and guided experiences can be enjoyed with friends and family, on an exclusive basis if requested, including a private luxury boat charter for fishing, snorkelling and diving excursions on the reef.
Lizard Island is designed to offer guests an ultimate private getaway. All suites are light-filled and spaced to offer guests a place of their own along with generous indoor and outdoor lounging areas offering views of Sunset Beach or Anchor Bay. The relaxed open-air restaurant and bar welcome a gentle breeze and feature a menu of the freshest of Queensland ingredients including locally caught seafood and premium drinks.
