The team from International Rail recently came together in person for their annual gathering, marking a year of notable achievements.

The event, held in the scenic surrounds of Lorne and The Great Ocean Road in regional Victoria, celebrated the launch of the company’s new agent booking platform and a dedicated ferry booking platform.

Team members from across Australia and New Zealand joined in a weekend filled with indulgent social activities, fostering camaraderie and team spirit. The gathering also provided an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s successes and discuss the company’s strategic goals for 2025. A key objective for the coming year is to solidify International Rail’s position as the go-to provider for agents in Australia and New Zealand when booking rail and ferry services.

Blending Hybrid Work with Face-to-Face Connection

As a dedicated online service provider, International Rail has successfully adapted to hybrid working spaces, leading to increased productivity and improved support service access for agents. Despite the advantages of remote work, Jonathan Hume, the owner and managing director of International Rail, emphasised the importance of in-person connections.

“It’s critical for support teams like ours to meet, reconnect, and establish strong working relationships in person,” said Hume. “While our hybrid model has proven effective, face-to-face interactions remain essential for fostering a strong team dynamic.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Hume highlighted the company’s ambitious plans for further growth. “2025 is going to bring another huge period of growth for the company, and none of it would be possible without this quality group in my corner that achieves incredible things,” he added.
