Veriu Green Square is only two stops away from Sydney Domestic Airport on the Airport Link, ideal if you’re in between flights or travelling to Sydney for a short business trip. The hotel provides meeting rooms for business travellers and can also manage conferences
First Impressions
The hotel is a short walk from Green Square Station, built on the former grounds of Australia’s original Mercedes Benz dealership. In homage to this, the reception desk sits behind half a car, with keys passed through the driver window.
Location
The beauty of Green Square is that while you’re close to the airport, you’re also close to the neighbourhood of Alexandria, Rosebery, Zetland, Beaconsfield and Waterloo, an area of urban renewal and Sydney’s newest town centre in 100 years.
Rooms
There are 144 rooms of varying sizes to suite different needs, including Suites, Studio Micro-Apartments and Family Micro-Apartments. All spacious and well-designed, with plenty of storage space, room to work in your room (or relax), a large bathroom, mini bar and TV with access to Netflix and Foxtel.
The Family Micro-Apartments have a kitchenette for self-catering, king bed and bunks with individual lights – cots are available on request.
Dining
Veriu Green Square’s onsite restaurant, Freddie Green’s, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A neighbourhood-focussed Italian restaurant, it’s a busy community hub with a mix of hotel guests and passing local trade.
Who is Freddie Green? Frederick Green was Lord Mayor of Alexandria in the 1930s and 1940s, responsible for creating many job opportunities for the immigrant Italian community in this industrial area, and he is who Green Square is named after.
Meetings, Events and Conferences
Drinks and snacks are also available in the quieter Business Lounge on the other side of the reception area. The hotel caters to business travellers with meeting rooms, conference facilities and function rooms with conference and event packages catered by Freddie Green’s.
