Grab your bags and free groceries with NZ

Air New Zealand is celebrating a new partnership with Woolworths’ Everyday Rewards by surprising thousands of passengers with free groceries at baggage claim across all domestic airports.

This nationwide giveaway heralds the launch of an innovative loyalty option, allowing Airpoints™ members to earn Airpoints Dollars™ through their everyday shopping.

Starting 2 December, Airpoints members can convert Everyday Rewards points into Airpoints Dollars, making it easier to save for their next trip. With a conversion rate of 2,000 Everyday Rewards points, equating to 15 Airpoints Dollars, this partnership offers travellers a seamless way to accumulate travel rewards.

Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran expressed excitement about the initiative: “Our 4.7 million Airpoints members can now get closer to that dream getaway simply by doing their grocery run. This partnership allows us to offer something our customers have wanted — more ways to grow their Airpoints balance.”

Some lucky passengers will find a bonus surprise of Airpoints Dollars in their grocery bags, adding an extra reward to their travels. Air New Zealand is also giving back, with a matching donation to local food banks across each airport region.

Everyday Rewards New Zealand Director Mark Burger noted that Kiwi customers have a strong preference for travel-oriented rewards: “Partnering with Air New Zealand offers members a valuable pathway to convert Everyday Rewards points toward their next journey. We believe this partnership will be a game-changer.”

To convert Everyday Rewards points to Airpoints Dollars, members need to be enrolled in both programs and select Airpoints as their redemption choice. The partnership joins over 40 Airpoints partners, including Mitre 10, New World, and Liquorland, providing multiple ways to earn Airpoints Dollars.
