Finnair has issued updated information about its ticket types.
Pro and Value ticket types with Finnair will be rebranded and called Flex and Classic respectively – with more streamlined benefits and unified offering across the network. At the same time, the ticket types, Basic and Saver, in markets where they are available will cease to exist. The ticket type ‘Light’ will also be introduced to more markets, having previously been available only on European routes, transatlantic flights and flights to Japan. The same ticket types – Flex, Classic and Light – will be then available in both travel classes, Business and Economy.
This means Finnair will introduce a completely new ticket type called Business Light on selected routes with limited flexibility for those who are looking for the comfort of Business Class travel without a need to have checked-in luggage.
The new Business Light product will be available in booking class I while the Business Classic product will be available in the new booking class R.
The Light offering in both Business and Economy will not apply to fares with an origin in Australia. However, if you are selling tickets with an origin in other countries, the Light fares might be available.
The main changes compared to previous ticket types are:
Economy Comfort will no longer be included for free for bookings in Y, B and H
Business Class baggage allowance will now be 2 pieces of 32Kg instead of 3
R-class is a new booking class in the Business cabin
Levels in I-class have been reviewed and are now available on each global indicator. The new R-class will offer an additional level in our very popular Oh yAY fare.
Note: The RTW column in the new fare sheet features EH/AP combinations. RTW fares TS/AP are also possible. You can easily quote them in the GDS using the RTW override entry.
For Sabre agents: Finnair fares are currently not available in Sabre
