Celestyal Cruises refit and change to fare structure

Celestyal Cruises has announced an exciting refit and simplified fare structure for its newest ship, Celestyal Discovery, set to complete in April 2025.

With the introduction of 47 new cabins and a streamlined “Celestyal One” fare option, the upgrades promise a modernised guest experience designed for comfort, choice, and ease.

Additional Cabins and Premium Suite Enhancements

Celestyal Discovery’s expansion will add 47 new staterooms, boosting capacity to 1,300 passengers. New accommodations include the luxurious ‘Grand Horizon Suites’ with large balconies positioned above the bridge, 30 ‘Junior Dream Suites,’ and 15 spacious interior ‘Cosmos Cabins.’ In line with the increase in premium staterooms, Celestyal is introducing enhanced perks for suite and balcony guests, such as priority check-in, access to Ray’s Sundeck and Cabanas, daily hosted cocktail hours, and a new ‘Sail Away’ party. Select guests can also access the Thermal Spa Suite with private jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna on Celestyal Journey.

Launching the “Celestyal One” Fare Structure

In December 2024, Celestyal will simplify its fare offerings by replacing the previous ‘Experience’ and ‘Experience Plus’ packages with a single “Celestyal One” fare. The new fare includes essential WiFi, unlimited soft drinks in main dining areas, a selection of beverages throughout the day, and covers port fees, taxes, and crew gratuities. This streamlined approach provides enhanced inclusions, offering guests both value and simplicity.

To further enhance convenience, Celestyal is replacing traditional drink packages with a prepaid food and beverage digital wallet, “CelestyalPay,” which allows guests to preload funds for non-complimentary purchases onboard. Guests can receive bonus credits by preloading their accounts, offering added flexibility and value during their cruise.

Expanded Dining Options

With the refit, Celestyal Discovery will also increase its range of complimentary dining venues, including the main restaurant Thalassa, buffet-style Taverna, and the newly added Greek Deli and Pizza Oven. These informal options provide guests with greater dining variety and locally inspired dishes during afternoons.

Focus on Value and Guest Experience

Lee Haslett, Celestyal’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted that these upgrades and changes were inspired by guest feedback, reflecting the brand’s focus on delivering high value. “We’re thrilled to introduce our new ‘Celestyal One’ fare structure and ‘CelestyalPay’ as a direct response to feedback from our guests and travel agent partners,” Haslett shared. “With enhanced inclusions, more choice, and flexibility, we’re ensuring our guests have everything they need to enjoy their time onboard.”

New Cabins and Fare Available Soon

Celestyal Discovery’s new cabins will be available for booking from December 10, 2024, with the new fare structure effective on all bookings from December 11, 2024, for departures starting March 21, 2025. As part of a limited-time promotion, travellers can book a three-night ‘Iconic Aegean’ cruise departing Athens in November 2025, with rates starting at A$499 for an interior cabin.

This refit and updated fare structure follow a multi-million Euro refurbishment in 2023, which brought new social spaces, dining venues like Café Nation and the Pizza Oven, and a revitalised Discovery Lounge onboard, further elevating Celestyal’s onboard experience for guests.
