Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, announced yesterday that ALL 34 Local Government Areas of Greater Sydney are now regarded as a COVID-19 hotspot by her state, and anyone from those areas would be banned from entering the Sunshine State, effective 1:00am [AEST] Saturday 1 August 2020.
Included in Greater Sydney are the areas of Blue Mountains City, Hawkesbury City and the Central Coast.
People who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot within the last 14 days will no longer be able to quarantine in Queensland and will be turned away at the border, except people needed in Queensland for essential purposes. Queensland residents who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot can return home but will be required to quarantine in government provided accommodation at their expense.
