Europcar Safety Program has launched in Australia and New Zealand, with the support of Bureau Veritas, as part of a global partnership.
Europcar Mobillity Group says the program has been implemented to shows the rental car company’s commitment to the safety of its employees and customers.
Strict disinfecting of branches and vehicles was launched some months ago, and now the Safety Program includes a 20 point vehicle hygiene check, carried out between each rental using a specially formulated sanitiser, with sanitised keys placed in an envelope and the vehicle not touched again until the customer opens the door.
Operations teams in the field have been provided with increased training and improved tools and checklists to ensure these robust measures are implemented consistently across the country. In branches, social distancing is practised, along with stringent cleaning and disinfecting of public and high touch areas and hand sanitiser is made available to staff and customers for regular use.
“As we prepare for borders to reopen across the country, we wanted to demonstrate our continued commitment to providing our valued customers with peace of mind when they book and travel with us. This Safety program and the partnership with Bureau Veritas provides material evidence that the safety of our employees and customers remains our number 1 priority.” said Ron Santiago, managing director of Europcar Mobility Group Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to these safety initiatives, Europcar provides both flexible adjustments and cancellation free of charge for all customers.
