Flight Centre will publish its hottest destinations for 2020 in its highly anticipated annual ‘WOW’ List, with the glossy magazine due to hit the streets on 5 December 2019. Tipping a whole bunch of top travel experiences for next year (food and nature are a big focus!), the List was compiled as a result of Flight Centre experts crunching extensive customer data and putting their own experienced global travel heads together to come up with the top 50 inspirational must-do travel experiences for 2020.
Supported by both online content and a premium publication, the ‘WOW’ List destination stories are written by Flight Centre’s own experienced staff, who set off to every corner of the globe each year researching and calling the next hot trends in travel.
“As time goes on, much more of Flight Centre’s business is complex international travel and this is what our customers want and how they want to travel – for the experience,” said Graham Turner, Flight Centre’s chief executive officer and founder.
“This is the future of travel, and the WOW! List of the 50 must-have travel experiences for 2020 really highlights the expertise of our consultants to assist our customers in planning something exciting and different when they travel.”
Luke Wheatley, head of creative and content for Flight Centre, is the man responsible for imagining, and creating, the annual WOW List.
“Each year’s list is inspiring; we look forward to sharing engaging, evocative content to highlight our top picks for the year ahead,” he said.
“The hot destinations chosen for 2020 feature unforgettable traveller experiences, supported by amazing visuals that really bring the ‘WOW’ List to life.”
2020 ‘WOW’ List Top Four snapshot
1. Great Barrier Reef – Heron Island, Queensland, Australia
2. Yukon, Canada
3. The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland
4. Avignon to Lyon, France – gastronomic delights on a Viking Cruise
Rylie Heathfield, who works at Flight Centre in St Kilda, Melbourne, is a rail travel expert who actively seeks out rail adventures on his personal holidays. Rylie says The Grand Rail Tour of Switzerland is a truly iconic rail holiday and is just that little bit different to what the average Australian traveller has previously experienced when travelling to Europe.
“The Grand Rail Tour of Switzerland offers a peaceful relaxing travel style for all ages. The trains take you through historic towns and monumental feats of engineering to beautiful valleys and heights of The Alps.
“Developed by Swiss Travel System and Swiss Tourism Office, Flight Centre consultants access these packages through Infinity holidays, our in-house wholesale team.
“Switzerland … is commonly perceived as a ‘hard’ holiday to plan but through the WOW list we demonstrate how easy it is to travel around and how breathtaking it is.”
The ‘WOW’ List magazine will be available from Flight Centre stores and online from 5 December, 2019.
