I Love New York Australia treated six lucky Australian travel agents to an upstate New York taster last month during a week-long incentive famil with the striking backdrop of New York State’s famous fall foliage.
Exploring six regions beyond Manhattan’s bright lights, the group set out from Long Island, experiencing pumpkin picking and exploring a selection of the Hamptons’ most iconic mansions which afforded a peek into the lifestyles of the rich and the famous.
In Hudson Valley, the agents delved into the arts and history of the region amid fall colours and viewed the Hudson River on a flight in an historic aircraft.
The Catskills region was the next stop, where the group savoured a true American outdoors experience, staying overnight in cabins and making their own s’mores. In the Finger Lakes, the agents explored world-class wineries while taking in sweeping views over the region’s lakes.
Buffalo, the group’s second to last stop, served up incredible architecture and art, while at Niagara Falls, the last stop on the famil, the agents experienced the roar of the world’s second-largest waterfall and the famed Maid of the Mist.
More than 350 agents completed I Love New York Australia’s training platform for a chance to win a spot on the ‘Best of Long Island and Upstate New York’ famil.
Australian Representative for New York State Division of Tourism, Ben Urquhart, said the response showed there’s a clear interest amongst agents in what to see, eat and do outside of New York City.
“New York City continues to win the hearts of Australians, and there’s so much to see and do beyond its limits. Whether you have only a couple of days, a week or more, there are amazing landscapes and outdoor experiences, culture, arts and food and dining to be discovered in New York State.”
