The 2019 ‘Inspiring’ Luxperience award has been presented to Pearls of Australia for its bespoke pearl farming experiences at Broken Bay Pearl Farm (NSW) and Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm (WA), and recognises excellence in innovation, entrepreneurial vision, uniqueness and market leadership.
Broken Bay Pearl Farm has expanded into the Hawkesbury River through its venture with Pearls of Australia, partnering with Sydney Seaplanes and Pretty Beach House to offer a unique integrated farming and tourism experience that gives a rare glimpse behind the scenes view of the pearling industry. 2019 marks the first year of opening the Broken Bay Pearl Farm to the public, after 15 years farming some of the most beautiful Akoya pearls the world has ever seen from the Brisbane Waters on the Central Coast.
The private and bespoke experiences offer adventure, education and luxury (including the worlds’ finest Akoya pearls) as well as Sydney Rock Oyster and rare pearl meat tastings. An industry first, ‘Shellar Door’, (similar to a Cellar Door) will open November 2019 in Mooney Mooney, NSW.
“By creating amazing, immersive experiences that are both entertaining and educational, we are empowering consumers to drive change in a way never seen before in the pearl industry by demanding to know where their pearls come from and if they have been chemically treated,” says James Brown, managing director and third generation pearl farmer.
