Bidroom is bringing a new model to the hotel booking sector with what it claims is a ‘fair-minded’ platform based on zero commissions and guarantees of cheapest room prices for frequent travellers in Asia and the Pacific.
Launched in 2014 in the Netherlands, Bidroom currently offers 125,000 hotel properties in 128 countries to frequent travellers who benefit from guaranteed lower room rates compared to other online travel agents.
The company’s primary mission is to serve as a fair alternative to the online booking market which is currently defined by excessive online travel agent commissions pocketed by giants such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Ctrip, Agoda and others. The fees travellers pay on such platforms include commissions up to 25%.
Bidroom’s unique fair-play room booking model for frequent travellers in Asia Pacific guarantees cheapest price rooms hotel rooms around the world.
“Bidroom is demonstrably cheaper than all known online travel agents,” says Bidroom co-founder, Michael Ros. “The result is a terrific deal for travellers that also delivers transparency and fair play for the consumer and hotelier.”
BidroomHotels aren’t charged any commission, but later pay Bidroom after a certain threshold of bookings has been reached.
The model works best for frequent travellers because they pay a modest membership fee to join Bidroom and then have access to the special room rates. Bidroom has attracted leading hotel brands, big and small, chain and indie, from Berlin to Bangkok, Cape Town to Copenhagen, as well as apartment properties. Members receive additional value added offers such as last-minute deals, premium Wi-Fi, late-check out, welcome drink, restaurant discounts and more.
