Contiki’s five new micro-adventures across India, Nepal, Vietnam and Japan are now on sale with departures in 2020-21.
The itineraries focus on exclusive experiences for young travellers and are designed for small group adventures of no more than 30 travellers, to provide a more social and immersive environment where travellers can better learn about the culture and new surroundings.

● New local experiences include a sunrise boat ride on River Ganges in Varanasi and exploring ‘Unseen Agra’ on a locally-guided bicycle tour in India; a slow-boat journey in Tam Coc; visiting the homes of the Red Dzao and Black H’moug tribes, and trying agricultural activities like crab-fishing and vegetable transplanting in Sapa, Vietnam.
● New food experiences include a culinary walking tour of Lucknow’s best street eats in India, a cooking class followed by lunch with a local family in Northern Vietnam’s Sapa region, and tasting traditional Nepalese cuisine at the local tea houses of Nepal’s Pokhara Valley trekking region.
● New wellness & active experiences include trekking past villages, terraced farms and temples in the Pokhara Valley of Nepal; a bike ride through Tho Ha Village and trek towards Ta Phin Village in Northern Vietnam, and soaking in traditional Japanese hot springs at Odaiba Onsen.
● New ethical experiences include meeting rescued elephants at the Wildlife SOS Elephant Rescue Centre in India, and a jeep safari and jungle walk in Nepal’s Chitwan National Park, one of the last safe havens for the endangered one-horned Rhino and Bengal tiger.
