Singapore Airlines S$1.1b A350 cabin overhaul

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is embarking on a S$1.1 billion cabin retrofit programme for 41 of its Airbus A350-900 aircraft, including both long-haul and ultra-long-range (ULR) models.

This ambitious, multi-year project will introduce redesigned First Class and Business Class cabins, aiming to elevate the travel experience across SIA’s network and set new benchmarks for premium air travel.

Introducing First Class on World’s Longest Routes

In a first for its A350-900ULR fleet, Singapore Airlines will debut an opulent First Class cabin. These new cabins will feature luxurious seating, crafted for discerning travellers who seek a truly exclusive in-flight experience on some of the world’s longest non-stop routes. With these upgrades, SIA continues its tradition of innovation, raising the bar for comfort and sophistication at 30,000 feet.

Enhanced Business Class Across All A350 Aircraft

Travellers in Business Class can also look forward to revamped seating across the entire A350 fleet. The upgraded Business Class seats will offer greater privacy, comfort, and functionality, enhancing the experience for both long-haul and ultra-long-range flights. Each seat is designed with spacious layouts and ergonomic details, aligning with the new standards planned for SIA’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft.

Refreshed Premium Economy and Economy Cabins

SIA’s commitment to enhancing the in-flight experience extends beyond premium cabins. Passengers in Premium Economy and Economy Class can also expect refreshed cabins, with upgrades designed to make long-haul journeys more comfortable and enjoyable.

Next-Generation In-Flight Entertainment System

Complementing the cabin redesigns, SIA will launch the next version of its KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, which will be available across all cabin classes. This upgraded system will feature a personalised entertainment experience with a wide array of lifestyle options. New in-flight entertainment screens will also be introduced in First Class and Business Class, adding to the overall luxury.

A Vision for the Future of Air Travel

SIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Goh Choon Phong, emphasised the airline’s dedication to providing a world-class travel experience. “The S$1.1 billion investment in retrofitting our A350 fleet underscores our commitment to customer satisfaction. With the thoughtful integration of comfort, luxury, and modernity, we aim to set new standards in premium air travel while delivering our renowned service excellence,” he said.

This overhaul reflects over six years of customer research and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the cabin designs meet evolving passenger expectations.

Details of SIA’s upcoming First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class cabin products, alongside the latest KrisWorld system, will be revealed closer to the entry into service of the retrofitted A350-900 and Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
