The Islands of Tahiti were on show in Brisbane last night as the Tahiti Tourisme Roadshow returned to Australia for a fun-filled night full of learning, networking and fun games, resulting in some amazing prizes. The event will then move to Sydney and Auckland later this week.
A record-breaking 13 Tahitian partners were available on the night to talk to travel agents about their product, including Hilton French Polynesia (Conrad Bora Bora Nui, Hilton Hotel Tahiti, Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa), Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa Rangiroa, Intercontinental Hotel Group (The Brando, InterContinental Resort Tahiti, InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa, InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort, Maitai Express Tahiti, MaiTai Bora Bora, MaiTai Rangiroa), Pearl Resorts of Tahiti: Tahiti, Taha’a, Bora Bora, Nuku Hiva Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea, South Pacific Management (Motu Nao Nao (Private Motu), Niu Bach Hotel, Manava Beach Resort, Te Raiatea, Nukutepipi (Private Island), Air Tahiti Nui, Aranui Cruises, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Silversea, Windstar Cruises, Tahiti Nui Travel, Tahiti Tours andTahiti Travel Services.
Tahiti Tourisme Representative Caroline Brunel said, “Tahiti is a growing destination, and we are currently seeing a strong interest from Australian travellers.”
“With visitor arrivals up 54 per cent, there is definitely an appetite for the destination. And why not, when the one destination with five archipelagos has 118 islands to discover.”
Recent updates out of Tahiti include a 5 per cent growth in accommodation offerings through new properties and renovations, with even more hotel openings on the horizon.
The International Airport has received a facelift, including the addition of automated border control, while the Domestic Airport is undergoing renovations also. The new cruise passenger terminal has also opened.
Notably, Tahiti’s Marquesas Islands was added as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Air Tahiti Nui, the country’s flag carrier, announced that on 27 October 2024 it will become easier to seamlessly connect Australians to Tahiti with the same day connection flights out of Melbourne through Auckland to Papeete.
Aranui Cruises will celebrate 40 years of service on 22 November 2024, an incredible milestone after launching as an islander trader vessel and in 1984, carrying its first 24 passengers onboard.
Paul Gaugin Cruises said there was a growing demand for multi-generational travel, while Silverseas announced the release of their 25/26 Tahiti itineraries.
The evening saw agents engage in an interactive competition, which determined a number of winners, including two agents who will be off to Tahiti on a Famil.
Tahiti Specialist Program with incentive
Agents are encouraged to sign up for the Tahiti Specialist Programme, the official destination specialist programme for The Islands of Tahiti.
The programme was created by Tahiti Tourisme to provide all users with a thorough and comprehensive online training programme on The Islands of Tahiti.
The destination offers a wide range of islands to visit and experiences for visitors to discover. Successfully complete the online modules and become a Tahiti Specialist to gain confidence in promoting The Islands of Tahiti.
