Sunshine Coast venues open for business
The Visit Sunshine Coast business events team hosted 9 Professional Conference Organisers based in SE Queensland on a 3-day famil and site inspections of the region. The group enjoyed first-hand updates and highlights including the new Crocodile Hunter Lodge at Australia Zoo, Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, University of the Sunshine Coast, Saltwater Eco Tours indigenous cruise, Holiday Inn and Aussie World. Rebecca Cheney from MCI Australia said, “The Visit Sunshine Coast famil was the perfect balance of learning and fun, truly showcasing what the region has to offer for Corporate Events. Copper City Hotel in Cobar Reopens for MICE and Leisure
The outback town of Cobar now has an extra lifestyle and events space with the reopening of the hotel at Copper City Motel, owned by Outback NSW tourism business, Out of the Ordinary Outback. The stylish bar and bistro closed in November, 2019, for renovations but travel restrictions caused by Covid-19 delayed its re-opening until now. The adjacent 30-room Copper City Motel has remained open throughout Covid. The re-tailored bar and bistro, with outdoor alfresco deck, at Copper City Hotel will offer a new dinner and evening pizza menu designed by a new chef and is also available for birthday, wedding, work and Christmas parties and other events such as meetings.
Northern Territory 2023 calendar of world-class events
Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), which has confirmed its 2023 calendar of world-class events. The line-up includes some of the Territory’s biggest arts, music, and sporting events including Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival, SportsBet Million Dollar Fish,, Darwin Triple Crown, Red CentreNATS and Alice Springs Masters Games. As one of the few companies to deliver large-scale events throughout the COVID pandemic, NTMEC has achieved great success in the last two years, including record entries and burgeoning number of interstate festivalgoers, and is gearing up for an even bigger year in 2023.
