Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced that the state’s borders will open to fully vaccinated travellers from interstate hotspots, including NSW, Victoria, ACT, Greater Adelaide and parts of the NT, from 1:00am, Monday, 13 December, 2021. Visitors will be able to arrive via road or air.
Fully vaccinated arrivals must get a COVID-19 test five days after they arrive in Queensland – penalties will apply for people who do not. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated may only arrive by air and undergo 14 days of hotel quarantine.
Ms Palaszczuk has also announced that entry to the state will be allowed only one week after a second dose, noting “The national guidelines say one week is enough [to be considered fully vaccinated], so we will adopt the national guidelines.”
