Hurtigruten’s MS Roald Amundsen returned to Tromsø in Norway on Friday after a 7-day Arctic cruise with several crew members onboard hospitalised for COVID-19. By Saturday the number of infected crew had risen to 36 of the 160 crew onboard. Most of the positive crew members are Filipinos.
Hurtigruten has been in contact with passengers who cruised on the MS Roald Amundsen between 17 July 2020 and 24 July 2020. The first cruise had 209 passengers onboard, and the second had 178 passengers. All guests are being instructed to self-isolate and will undergo testing. At least one passenger has so far been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19. Around 60 passengers who disembarked on Friday are in quarantine in Tromsø.
