Stretching from the rugged red earth of Mt Augustus, the world’s largest monolith twice the size of Uluru, in the Gascoyne-Murchison region, to the sweeping snow-white beaches of Esperance, Fitzgerald Coast and the South Coast, Western Australia’s Golden Outback is a diverse region covering 54% of the state. At its heart is the mining hub of Kalgoorlie and the Goldfields and, to the west, the picturesque rolling farmland of the Wheatbelt.
Australia’s Golden Outback has launched its Road Trip Country campaign, with 21 different road trips to tempt the traveller.
“…from one-hour road trips to 15-day adventures and everything in between. It’s an exciting prospect to jump in the car with family or friends to explore somewhere new – there’s a fantastic feeling of freedom that you only get on an epic road trip,” says Marcus Falconer, CEO of Australia’s Golden Outback.
“Not only does it support our tourism businesses, but a road trip through WA’s Golden Outback is a really awesome holiday – there are things you’ll experience that you can’t experience anywhere else in the world.
